QUEST for THE WRITERS VOICE Competition

|

Thursday, April 19, 2012

Wow, I just found this amazing blogfest post at Brenda Drake Writes.  She is co-hosting The Writers Voice contest beginning May 3.  Here is some of the submission criteria from Brenda's post to entice you:

To enter, your manuscript must meet two conditions: First, it must be COMPLETE, POLISHED, AND READY TO QUERY, and second, it must be in one of the following genres:

Adult Fantasy
Adult Science Fiction
Adult Romance
YA fiction (all subgenres)
MG fiction (all subgenres)

We’ll accept entries in two time slots. The first submission window will open at 9:00 a.m. EDT on Thursday, May 3, and will close once we receive 75 entries. The second submission window will open at 9:00 p.m. EDT on the same day and will close once we receive another 75 entries.

See Brenda's The Writers Voice blogpost for co-hosts, contest schedule, and submission site; then polish up those query ready stories.  There are 8 agents reviewing the blogfest finalists.

I may be out of here again while I polish up my Werewolf story . .

I don't fit any of the genres but it's a great opportunity for others!

... and thanks to this post I just discovered the Magic Appreciation Tour. Looks great. Thanks again, Donna. I clearly should just spend my time perusing your blog!

Did you say, werewolf story? I'm working on a werewolf suspense romance now, but it's nowhere near ready.

Thanks for the info, Donna. Has anyone told you you're wonderful today?

I love werewolf stories. Let me know if you need a beta reader. As long as the werewolf is sexy I'm gonna like it.

Double dog dammit! I'm still working on my current piece, else I'd be all over that blog contest.

Need to get it finished so I can start querying around.

Simon; when I saw this I immediately thought of you, and many others at W1S1. I've read quite a few of your publihed short stories, and I'm sure you'll be snatched up real quick. And yes, you should browse my blog occasionally :)

Are you sur Li; the criteria is pretty broad? Now I'm wondering what you are writing in. Thanks for stopping by; I'll visit you soon.

Good luck with the 3rd novel Alex. If you have anything else though, I'm sure it will be a shoe in for the contest.

You made me smile for the first time today JL. Thank you :) And we should exchange stories when they are finished; werewolves are my favorite.

Thanks Julie.

Mike; well, sorta :) You ever met a Werewolf that wasn't? He's not in the same character caliber as Kolin, but I think you might like him. I will take you up on your offer.

Good luck Brinda; I'll look for your query.

Eric; you tease. You know how much I look forward to your writings.

Hi Carol. Thanks for the encouragement.

If I know you Denise, this will eat at you until you have something, lol. True genius is always up for a challenge.

Yes isn't this great!! I participated in a Cupid query contest in Feb and it was amazing. I got all kinds of requests and agents were actually fighting over submissions. lol. Nothing came of it afterward, except for some awesome feedback. You won't wanna miss this voice contest, for sure!

Oh wow, that looks fabulous. Shame my WIP is still in the 1st third of writing at the moment, but I've had a small epiphany which is encouraging.

Donna, best of luck to you on this. If you already have something in the pipe, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you won the thing, you're a really talented writer.
